Overarching problem

• The benefits of scientific data sharing are hard to realize if Academic researchers perceive that they are at risk.

Objective

• Create products that will support a self-sustaining ecosystem reducing the risks of data sharing for the Academic community.

Desirable features

• Easy to use (no programing expertise necessary).
• Gives data generators ownership of, responsibility and credit for their data.
• Enables reproducible studies based on chimeric data sets.
• Provides an avenue for small businesses and entrepreneurial labs to participate in the scientific endeavor.
• Promotes Citizen science efforts underway across the Federal Government.
• Low-cost.
• Scalable.
• Does not rely on recommender engines.
• Transparent cost-model.
